50 percent of the total seats are surrendered to TNAU. The single window system implemented by TNAU as per the reservation policy of Tamil Nadu Government is followed to fill 50 percent of the total seats.
Candidates should have passed ALL the subjects in Academic stream of the Qualifying Examination with 10+2 years of schooling under Board of Higher Secondary Education of Government of Tamil Nadu / Central Board of Secondary Education / Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations / other State Government Boards / other International Boards that are recognized are eligible to apply.
Group I : Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology

Group II : Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any one of the fourth (elective) subject viz., Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Computer Science and Home Science.

The maximum number of permissible attempts to pass in the qualifying examination is as follows
A certificate regarding the physical standards prescribed shall be obtained from the Government Medical Officer and produced at the time of FAQ. Candidates, who aspire for Indian Forest Service (IFS) examination, please check the physical standard requirement with appropriate agency
A student at who discontinues from the degree programme is not eligible for FAQ again as per the TNAU FAQ rules
The reservations will be followed as per the orders of the Government of Tamil Nadu at the time of FAQ.
